If the Cowboys did not use the designation, they would save less
than $400,000 cap. The downside to the June 1 cut is the cap
hit will spread over two years. Austin would count $5.1 million against
the cap in 2015 as a June 1 cut.
Austin caught only 24 passes for 244 yards in last season, missing five
games with a hamstring injury and failing to catch a pass in two games. With the emergence of Terrance Williams, the Cowboys could partner the second-year receiver with Dez Bryent in the starting lineup but could also look to low-cost veterans in free agency. Sad day for the Lions
William Clay Ford, The owner of the Detroit Lions Football team, has died at the age of 88 today.
The Ford Motor Company has said in a statement that Ford died of pneumonia at his home. He was the last surviving grandson of automotive pioneer Henry Ford and have owned the Detroit Lions since 1964.
Lions team president Tom Lewand said in a statement "It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Mr. Ford and extend our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Ford and to the entire Ford family, "Those of us who had the opportunity to work for Mr. Ford knew of his unyielding passion for his family, the Lions and the city of Detroit. His leadership, integrity, kindness, humility and good humor were matched only by his desire to bring a Super Bowl championship to the Lions and to our community."

The saints house cleaning
The New Orleans Saints continuing their roster overhaul by releasing there running back Darren Sproles if they are not able to trade him. Sproles, 30, in his Carer with the New Orleans Saints has been one of the most important offensive weapons
